Every week we feature a new startup at Fundsup that forces a radical breakthrough. This time we chatted with Martijn Gerrits, CEO of Rentiv.
You can read the Dutch version on the website of our media partner Emerce.
Martijn, what does Rentiv do exaclty?
At Rentiv we are taking away choices that companies and people don’t want to worry about. Think about the choices for services such as teleco, energy and internet, and when you need to switch from provider. The base criteria for choosing these providers don’t change each year. Services and costs DO change every year. Comparing these every year is boring and costs more energy than you will get out of it. We solve that.
Where do you see its main application?
Small businesses and multiple property owners are the ideal clients now. They are really are out of sight of the energy providers, consulting agencies and intermediaries.
Utilities are not top of mind, although your choices can really make a difference in cost and quality.
What is the impact of your business?
The relief of stress for a group of people that don’t want to worry about these choices. We give people the opportunity to not have to make a choice. Next to that, we provide insights for users and can provide fitting solutions for their specific needs.
Where do you stand right now?
Our product is finished to start piloting, but the product is partly an AI system. So it will never be fully finished as the AI will get smarter and smarter. We are the creators and owner of the technology behind Rentiv. We have one active and one silent investor. Through their, and our own, network we have pre-signed 650 properties.
Who has invested in you and what kind of investors are you looking for?
The current investor is active within the blockchain technology sector. This investor provided an investment before we had a finished product. Because he totally understood the business case and trusts the team.
Now, we prefer an investor with a big network within the real estate sector and can provide contact with major property owners. Or an investor who has experience in launching a B2C platform.
What would be the ideal investor match?
Somebody who understands the problem we are trying to solve, has a network that can help us grow more efficiently, has a feeling for the technology and a connection with the team.
Best of luck with everything!
